We are currently carrying out some refurbishments to our online shop. Therefore, we’ve had to close it temporarily. We’re really sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we promise we will work as hard as we can to get it back up and running soon. In the meantime, you can still order our kits online from Amazon and Ocado, or pick us up from your local supermarket.

Cooking with The Spice Tailor

All our kits are designed to be cooked in under 15 minutes. Our pastes can be cooked in under 30 minutes. We generally follow a simple approach to cooking and most of our kits and pastes have a 3-step process and we provide clear instructions on the pack. Our website also has clear instructions on how to use each kit. Each of our kits and pastes can be tailored to taste, either using your own creations or we’ve also got hundred of recipe ideas to give you a helping hand.

Indian Curry Kits contain three pouches of 300g – a whole spice pouch, a base sauce and a stir-in sauce. The exception is the Keralan Coconut Curry which has only 2 pouches and doesn’t require a base sauce. Lentil Daal Kits contain three pouches of 400g – a whole spice pouch, a 'tarka' spiced sauce and the cooked lentils. The exception is our Bengali Coconut Lentil Daal which has only 2 pouches and doesn’t require a 'tarka' spiced sauce. Biryani Kits contain three pouches of 360g - whole spice pouch, cook-in sauce and aromatic steamed biryani rice. Pastes contain just one 200g pack, which contains everything and is ready to go. Tandoori Marinade Kits contain three pouches of 170g - tandoori marinade, tandoori seasoning blend and a chutni to serve. Asian Curry Kits contain three pouches of 275g - whole spice and aromatics pouch, curry paste and coconut milk.

You can find an array of recipes to cook with our kits on our website. We’re always adding new recipes to help inspire you to try new ideas in the kitchen.

Our kits and pastes are versatile and can to be used in a slow cooker. However, depending on the ingredients you’re cooking with, you may need to add a splash of water to stop them from sticking to the pan.

All of our products need to be consumed within 3 days of opening if refrigerated, with the exception of our Pastes, which can remain in the fridge for up to 28 days.

Our products are completely flexible and you can tailor to taste. We provide the necessary spices we believe you need. However, you can remove them from the recipe if you prefer. You can also grind the spices up and add them. And you can also take out the large whole spices after cooking your dish.

We design out meals and products with everyone in mind. Of course, everyone has a different taste preference, so its up to you. We do recommend that the mild curries and daals are good way to introduce young kids to curries.
